Product Description

Overview

The SMV 800 Smart Multivariable Flow Transmitter integrates sensor, microprocessor technologies and dynamic flow compensation to deliver highly accurate and consistent flow measurement, available in four models with distinct pressure ranges: SMA810 (DP: 0-62.5 mbar, SP: 0-7 bar A), SMA845 (DP: 0-1000 mbar, SP: 0-104 bar A), SMG870 (DP: 0-1000 mbar, SP: 0-310 bar g) and SMG890 (DP: 0-5000 mbar, SP: 0-310 bar g). This smart transmitter detects differential pressure, absolute or gauge pressure via a single sensor, and temperature through a standard Resistance Temperature Detector (RTD) or thermocouple; it uses these three measured variables to calculate compensated mass or volume flow rate as the fourth variable, with flow calculations based on industry standards such as ASME, ISO, AGA or GOST for air, gases, steam or liquids. Targeted at compensated mass or volume flow measurement scenarios, especially for gas, steam and liquid applications, SmartLine SMV800 Multivariable transmitters ensure reliable and accurate measurement performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
What variables does the SMV800 multivariable transmitter measure?
The transmitter detects three primary variables: differential pressure, absolute or gauge pressure via a single sensor, and process temperature through an RTD or thermocouple. It then calculates the compensated mass or volume flow rate as the fourth variable.
What are the differences between SMA810 and other SMV800 models?
The models differ primarily in their pressure measurement ranges. For instance, the SMA810 has a Differential Pressure (DP) range of 0-62.5 mbar and a Static Pressure (SP) range of 0-7 bar A, while other models like SMA845, SMG870, and SMG890 support higher pressure limits.
What standards govern the flow calculations of the SMV800?
The transmitter's flow calculations are based on recognized global industry standards, including ASME, ISO, AGA, and GOST, making it compatible with various fluid types like air, gas, steam, and liquids.
What communication protocols does this transmitter support?
It supports traditional 4-20mA DC analog outputs, Digital Enhanced (DE) protocols for single or multivariable configuration, and HART® Version 7.0 for smart integration.
How modular is the design of the SMV800 transmitter?
The SMV800 is highly modular. It allows easy interchangeability of communication line modules, replacement of diaphragms, addition or removal of liquid crystal display heads, and replacement of lightning protection modules.
