Product Features
The Shafer RV series actuators employ a rotary vane design, offering a highly efficient and compact solution. Their output torque ranges from 113 to 677,907 Nm (1,000 to 6,000,000 in-lbs), with operating air pressures of 6.9 to 206.8 bar (100 to 3,000 psig). with a standard operating temperature range of -29°C to 121°C (-20°F to +250°F). Low-temperature internals are available as an option.
Operating Principle
This actuator employs hydraulic drive, wherein hydraulic pressure simultaneously pushes both blades of the rotor away from the fixed shoe, thereby generating rotational and perfectly balanced torque output. Reverse hydraulic input power enables the rotation direction to be reversed. As there is no conversion from linear to rotary motion, constant torque output is maintained throughout the valve's entire rotation.
Applications
Widely employed in natural gas pipeline applications, particularly suited for offshore platforms and other confined spaces, as well as high-vibration environments such as slurry pipelines. Its concentric geometry principle ensures exceptional efficiency in these conditions. Furthermore, the high-pressure rotary vane structure and compact design enable operation at subsea depths of 750 metres (2,460 feet) without separate pressure compensation.
Quality Assurance
The sole moving component is designed for a 50-year service life, backed by a 10-year warranty. The dual-blade configuration eliminates lateral forces on the valve stem and actuator bearings, ensuring long-term stable operation of both actuator and valve.
Certifications
The actuator holds SIL, CSA, FM, ATEX, and IECEx certifications.
The delivery cycle of industrial products is influenced by various factors, such as the inventory status of the products, the scale of the order quantity, the region where the customers are located, and the choice of transportation methods. Delivery Lead Time may vary depending on the supplier and order specifics.
Packaging and Transportation: The actuator supplier shall be responsible for packaging and transporting the actuator from the manufacturing plant to the valve manufacturing plant. The actuator and valve must be assembled prior to shipment and dispatched as a complete unit by the valve supplier. Components shall generally remain undismantled.
Warranty Period: Typically, the warranty period for actuators shall be 18 months following successful installation and commissioning, or 12 months after commencement of operation.
