Product Description

Overview

The Tektronix 5 Series MSO Mixed Signal Oscilloscope sets new standards for performance, analysis capabilities, and user experience with its innovative pinch-slide-zoom touchscreen interface, industry-leading large high-definition display, and flexible multi-channel configurations. It addresses the most demanding test challenges of today and tomorrow, particularly suited for verification and debugging in complex scenarios such as embedded systems, three-phase power electronics, and automotive electronics. Available in 4-, 6-, and 8-channel models, this series features a 15.6-inch HD (1920×1080) capacitive multi-touch TFT color display. Its multi-channel design enhances visibility into complex systems — Each FlexChannel® input supports one analog signal (displaying waveform, spectrum, or both simultaneously) and can be expanded to 8 digital logic inputs using the TLP058 logic probe. This eliminates debugging bottlenecks caused by insufficient channels in traditional oscilloscopes. The 6-channel model costs only about 25% more than the 4-channel model, while the 8-channel model costs about 67% more. These investments quickly pay off through efficiency gains, ensuring project timelines stay on track.
Hardware performance features analog channel bandwidths ranging from 350 MHz to 2 GHz with upgrade options, achieving a full-channel real-time sampling rate of 6.25 GS/s and an interpolated sampling rate up to 500 GS/s. Standard 62.5 Mpoints memory depth, expandable to 500 Mpoints, with waveform capture rates exceeding 500,000 waveforms per second. Utilizes a 12-bit ADC, reaching 16 bits in high-resolution mode, delivering exceptional measurement accuracy. Extensive trigger capabilities include standard edge, pulse width, and logic triggers. Auxiliary triggers support ≤5 VRMS, 50Ω, 250 MHz (≥200 mVpp) edge triggering, with optional upgrades for video and RF time-based triggering.
Extremely comprehensive analysis capabilities include built-in cursors, 36 parameter measurements, spectrum view, FastFrame™ segmented storage (trigger rate exceeding 5,000,000 waveforms/second), time trend graphs/histograms/ spectrum plots / phase noise plots. It supports basic waveform math, FFT, advanced equation editing, and signal search under any trigger condition, while integrating TIE jitter and phase noise analysis. Upgradeable advanced jitter and eye diagram analysis, custom filtering, RF trace over time / trigger / spectrum / IQ capture, digital power management, mask / limit testing, and trigger/decode/analyze capabilities for dozens of protocols including I²C, SPI, CAN, Ethernet, with compliance testing support for select protocols.
For connectivity and usability, the instrument features 7 USB host ports, 1 USB 3.0 device port, LAN Ethernet (LXI-compatible), DisplayPort, DVI-D, and VGA interfaces. It supports remote viewing and control via e*Scope® functionality in standard web browsers. Each channel comes standard with one 10 MΩ passive voltage probe (capacitive load < 4 pF). Dimensions: 309 mm (H) × 454 mm (W) × 204 mm (D). Weight: < 11.4 kg. Includes a standard 1-year warranty.
