Emerson EasyHeat™ SL Thermostatic Controllers are devices for pipe freeze protection and temperature control. The SL2G and SL3 are two models within this range, with the following overview:
Primary Function: Both models control heating cables by automatically regulating power supply based on detected pipe temperatures, thereby providing frost protection or maintaining desired temperatures. Each incorporates a 10-foot (3-metre) sensor to monitor pipe temperature, activating or deactivating the cable accordingly.
Structural Design: The SL2G incorporates a built-in Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI), featuring a test/reset button and socket indicator light to ensure operational safety. The SL3 lacks an integrated GFCI; heating cables connected to the SL3 must have separate ground fault protection.
Applications: The SL2G and SL3 are suitable for residential water supply and drainage pipes to prevent freezing. The SL3 may also be used with the EasyHeat™ In-Line Self-regulating Heating System to provide freeze protection for metal or plastic pipes up to 6 inches (15 cm) in diameter.
